Cooking instructions

Cooking guidelines for your Award Winning Free Range Bronze Christmas Turkey

Allow your turkey to settle at room temperature for approximately 1 hour
Pre heat your oven to 180ºC (or 170ºC for a fan assisted oven)
Rub butter liberally all over your turkey, and season well with salt and pepper. Add whatever aromatics you wish inside the bird - herbs or spices, onions or garlic.
Place the turkey in a large roasting tray with the breast facing down and add a really good splash of red wine or stock to the base of the tray to help keep the meat succulent. Place in the centre of your preheated oven.
Half way through the estimated cooking time, turn the turkey over to allow the bird to brown.
Once cooked, allow the turkey to rest for 30 minutes before carving
These are the approximate timings for roasting your turkey:
4kg – 120 minutes
5kg – 135 minutes
6kg – 150 minutes
7kg – 170 minutes
8kg – 190 minutes
9kg – 195 minutes

Depending on the efficiency of your oven, your cooking time may vary slightly.
